itunes prevents windows 10 taskbar from hiding

I did a clean install of windows 10 pro 64 bit yesterday and today I've discovered a problem with iTunes not allowing the taskbar to autohide itself. Once I launch iTunes the task bar remains up even though autohide is selected in the taskbar properties. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
