MacBook pro set up problem

I'M setting up a new MacBook pro and have clicked yes to the FileVault disk encription. That was 4 hours ago and I'm still looking a spinning coloured wheel Is this normal?

The new rMBP's come with file vault already enabled by default. You had to manually do it? When I set mine up (started it for the first time) I didn't notice anything.
