One of my contacts is a number and the same person is now a gmail account. Whenever I text the original number one, it is a text message (green). But when the text me, it's a gmail account with Imessage (Blue). I linked the contacts but still can't text under the original number one because it turns into iMessage.

The Gmail account is apparently their Apple ID. As they are apparently using an iOS device, in order for you to send them an SMS, you'd need to deactivate iMessage on your phone. Is there a reason you don't want to use iMessage with this person?
