iPod nano 2nd gen can't be sync with iTunes anymore

I have an ipod nano 2nd gen and it can't be syncronised by iTunes anymore. Everytime I plug it, iTunes recognize it but when I choose "Sync", an error message comes up, saying that it's unable to sync the iPod because it can't be detected.

The computer recognizes the iPod as an external device. I have tried all the things listed on the support page:

- restarted pc

- restarted itunes

- restarted ipod

- updated pc

- updated iTunes

- uninstalled and re-installed itunes

- re-installed ipod driver

I haven't downoladed anything that could possibly affect my PC and I have also checked with my antivirus.

My PC runs Windows 7 32 bit

Can someone please help me?

Greetings zebrafish17,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you are unable to sync your iPod nano with iTunes on your Windows computer and are receiving an alert that your iPod cannot be detected. To troubleshoot this situation, I would recommend reading over and working through the suggested steps outlined in the attached article below.
