external monitor for my mid 2010 MacBook Pro

Will a Dell U2715H work well as external monitor for my mid 2010 MacBook Pro? I will use it for photo editing, Garageband editing & mixing, and spreadsheets as well as general internet use.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
