line in not detected - tried to follow treads in community

Hi,

I am becoming very frustrated as i cannot find a solution to this! I have tried and read manly suggestions on the MAC form - hope i have missed something as i really want to solve this issue.

I own a mac book pro Yosemite - MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) - Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 - Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

The audio line in cannot be detected - I am trying to use Audacity to record live sets in the very same way i am doing on my macbook pro from 2008. Obviously Audacity is not giving me the option to choose line in as the line in on my Macbook pro i snot available.

What can i do to make my make detect or offer the line in option??

Please help me.

Many thanks

Tom

The audio line in cannot be detected -

Unlike your older MacBook Pro, your new MBP has no dedicated audio input, either analog or digital (other than its built-in microphones). You will need to use a USB port and a suitable audio converter.
