i am on windows, and my computer wont recognize my device

I got a new laptop, and I just got ITunes on it. I plugged in my IPod (7th generation) but my laptop (which is running windows 8) wouldn't recognize it. I also couldn't figure out or find the iOS number.

Hi,

Try this:

Disconnect the iPod and close iTunes.

Connect the iPod again to the computer.

When iTunes then automatically start up, close iTunes.

Start Windows Explorer and navigate to C: \ Program Files \ Common Files \ Apple \ Mobile Device Support \ Drivers

In the Drivers folder, right click on usbaap164.inf and then click Install.
