Q: How do I get pictures from Photos into iMovie?  I movie only gives me PhotoBooth option.  iMovie '11

How do I get pictures into iMovie '11 from Photos.  I click on the camera icon but it only give me the PhotoBooth option.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

    Hello OskeeWeeWee,

     

    You state you are using iMovie '11 (version 9) with the new Photos.  With iMovie (2013) there is a sidebar that offers Photos.  Given that, you may want to try the alternate method of drag and drop via the Desktop.

     

    Add Photos images to an iMovie project - Apple Support

    Drag and drop from the Desktop

    You can drag photos from your Desktop and drop them into iMovie:

    1. Drag the photo you’d like to use from Photos to your Desktop.
    2. Drag the photo from the Desktop to the Timeline in your iMovie project.
