I just bought another computer and used the migration assistant. everything good except in photos all the thumbnails are blank but when clicked on the image appears. I've searched this forum and found to hold option + command while opening photos and repair the library. I've done this 4-5 times now with no luck.

I'm running

version 10.10.4 and photos 1.0.1

all versions the same on other computer and that one is functioning properly

any other ideas???

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

Are the thumbnails correct in the original Photos Library on your old Mac? Then you could try to copy the library directly over without Migration Assistant. Migration Assistant is not always perfect when copying Photo Libraries.

Copy the Photo Library from your old Mac to an external drive that is formatted MacOS Extended (Journaled) and has the "Ignore Ownership" flag enabled (as described in this help text: iPhoto: Sharing libraries among multiple users).

This will ensure, that permission issues will not prevent the copying.

Then connect this drive to your new mac and copy the library to your new mac.
