movies purchased through iTunes not synching?

Yesterday I purchased 3 movies to sync to my daughter's iPod Classic. I'm getting an error message whenever I try to sync the movies AND an already purchased music video that the video format isn't accepted by this iPod??? Could this be related to the new iTunes?
