why is 4 digit id code required after 48 hours when fingerprint id is much more secure? and why is id limited to 4 digits when ipad can have 8 or more digits in code?

Why do you have to use a 4 digit id code after 48 hours when a fingerprint is much more secure? And why is the id code limited to 4 digits when you can use 8 or more digits in an ipad code?

Passcodes are not limited to 4 digits. If you Tap Settings > Passcodes > enter your passcode > Simple Passcodes to turn off only 4-digit passcode, then you can entire more complex passcode if you wish.


The limit on how long you can use the fingerprint is simply an additional level of security protection should your fingerprint be stolen or copied.
