MAC tech specs say 8 GB (2 4gb) configurable to 16/32, how does that work?
I have an iMac 17 with 8 gb memory. Specs say it is configurable to 16/32 gb. How do I explore how to to that?
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

You purchase two or four 8 GB modules, then add to or replace existing modules, respectively. This will give you either 24 GBs or 32 GBs of memory.
Configurable isn't the same as upgradable.
Upgradable means that RAM can be added both prior to and after the computer is purchased.
Configurable means that the model can be configured to have more RAM in the online Apple Store, but after it leaves Apple, it has all the RAM which it ever will.
