I just dropped my iPhone 6 into a bathtub. HELP

I dropped my iPhone 6 into my bathtub by accident i didn't realize I had placed it where I did and it fell. I immediately dried it with a towel and put it in a bag of rice. Well I'm not patient and after 3 hours I tried turning it on. A blue screen with black lines appeared then it turned black. I remembered to remove the sim card. Now I placed it back into the bag of rice. Is there any chance it will survive? How long do I have to wait to try to turn it on again? Did I do the right thing by removing the sim card?
