Send and receive from apple ID... will messages be visible on other devices?

I started using iMessage on my mac, and just now realized that it was set to send and receive from both my apple ID and phone number. I changed it now, so it only is my phone number, but I was wondering... if someone else in my family (all use same apple ID) sets their phone or computer to send and receive from the apple ID, will all the messages that I sent from my Mac the past day come up on their device? They haven't said anything to me yet, but I believe that that's because they have their devices set as only sending and receiving from their phone number. Is there any way to prevent that from happening? Thanks!
