how do i use quicktime player to record my iPad screen

I am trying to record my iPad screen onto quicklime player for iMac i have all the new updates for my computer and iPad but my iPad does not show up under camera in quick time player

iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 8.4

You have to have an iOS device that has the newest lightning connector cable. If you really have the iPad 2, you don't have the correct cable and this will not work for you.
