Help synching ical from Mac to Ipad

I have an older version macbook that will run OS 10.6.8 as the most current version. So I cloud is not available in the preferences tab--but mobile me is available. When I click on it I am referred to apples website for using I-cloud.

Is there a way to synch my imac calendar to the ipad with this understanding? Also, I am not a "techie" so don't worry you will offend me using little words! Thanks.

You can share Mail, Calendars, and Contacts running Snow Leopard. Based on my experience, I don’t recommend syncing Contacts - created a lot of problems with duplicates. If you have 2 step verification enabled on your Apple ID, you will need to generate an application specific password for Mail, iCal, and Address Book. Apple ID - Manage
