Q: Windows 10, Outlook 2013 syncing with iCloud

Since I downloaded Windows10 on my PC, Outlook 2013 no longer syncs with iCloud. The Refresh button in Outlook has gone and when I tick the iPad Calendar box in Outlook an error message states that it can not acceess the information store. I have redownloaded iCould for Windows but that does not help. Any ideas?

Just to add to others - MANY THANKS! This solved my issue. Of course, be careful when you apply iCloud as your contacts and calendar get deleted from Outlook PST and stored with iCloud.

I too want to say 'Thank You' to Mumpara for your advice as to how to solve this annoying iCloud problem. I had been struggling with it for 3 weeks and was getting fed up with the problem.

Then I stumbled on his very straightforward list of instructions, and was finally able to restore my iCloud Calendars to just the way I like them.

    Thank you from England.

I have tried everything suggested here and still cannot my Outlook calendar to link with iCloud. Like the others, it worked fine before I upgraded to Windows 10. When I run the iCloud for Windows control panel I get the error "Your setup couldn't be started because the iCloud server stopped responding." When I look at the attached report I see:

Your setup couldn't be started because the iCloud server stopped responding. Learn more...

Error: 0x80040401: Empty CalDAV homeset (600)

Error: 0x80040401: HTTP Operation timed out!

Does anyone know what CalDAV is and how I can put something in it?

I found that CalDAV is where a calendar is shared and so I set up sharing on my iCloud calendar but the iCloud control panel still gets the error listed above.

I guess it has something to do with the "homeset (600) part of the error message, whatever that is?

I tried the full re-install but kept getting error messages that wouldn't allow me to do it. Then I spotted the suggestion to sign out of iCloud and back in again and it worked!!

    Thanks

Like others worked fine until W10 upgrade. I have run through these instructions several times word for word. Each time iCloud wants to repair and it will not work with Outlook 2013. I would hope that an official fix will come soon. Unfortunately I am too late to revert to W7 on this Windows machine. I do run W7 on my MacMini under parallels with 8G allocated to the VM and it is actually faster than the native 12G memory desktop. This is Windows 8 all over again is my opinion.

have you had any success? I am getting very frustrated. I keep getting

Error: 0x80004005: Empty CalDAV homeset (600)

Error: 0x80004005: Unexpected HTTP Transport Error!

I have again gone through the process, logout of iCloud etc and still neither the calendar nor the contacts will connect with iCloud. If I could revert to Win 7 I would. I only need a windows machine for a SQL server application. My laptop is a 2010 MacBook Pro with 8G and my main computer a MacMini with 16G and both run Win 7 under Parallels better and faster than this 12G huge desktop I bought in 2014 (Lenovo with win 8 and complete with the embedded Lenovo Adware) I ended up scrubbing Win8 off it and installing Win 7 due to all the malware that was getting through my virus checker - caused by the embedded adware I later discovered. I have found that Macs have much lower cost of ownership - I have never had a laptop in the last 25 years that has lasted physically and functionally for 5 years like the Macbook Pro. Now with a Crucial drive it is as fast as a new one!

I am really at an age where I like to turn my computer on and it works - not spend hours trying to configure something that should work. Frustrated

I have re-written the instructions below from other posts. Follow them, I know they work for Outlook 2013 and 2016 on Windows 10. I have fixed up a half a dozen computers.

Open the iCloud panel and sign out

Open outlook and then follow the instructions below:

    1. File-> Account Settings-> Account Settings…-> Data Files tab

    2. Select the iCloud data file and press Remove.

    3. If you also connected to the iCloud account via IMAP, remove this account.

    4. Close Outlook.

    5. Press Windows key + R.

Copy and paste the following command in the open box,

      Outlook.exe /resetnavpane

    6. and then press Enter. Note there is a space between Outlook.exe and /resetnavpane.

    7. Open the iCloud Control Panel via the Start Menu and uncheck all the options: Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Task with Outlook.

    8. Download and install the latest version of iCloud from the Apple website.

    9. Reboot when being prompted to do so by the iCloud installer.

    10. Open the iCloud Control Panel via the Start Menu sign in with your apple ID and select the option: Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Task with Outlook.

    11. Start Outlook and let iCloud resync your data.

Tried a lot of the above. At the end, logging out of ICloud in the and ICloud setup app and logging back in was the solution for me!
    Thanks bbold2! :-)
