i just started working in a company, i inherit this laptop from previous employee,
the OS is still 10.9 which is maverick, but i need to install the recent Xcode, because of that i need to upgrade the OS to yosemite.
but, i can't upgrade it to yosemite, the App Store is always asking the previous employee apple ID and password ( i also can't change the apple id ),
is someone know how to handle this issue?

The machine must be restored to the original version of OS X that shipped on it.
You can then upgrade using your own Apple ID via the App Store.
so, there no other way to solve this except reformat the OS?
Unfortunately, no as the license is tied to the Apple ID used to obtain it. You might want to suggest to your boss that they should establish some system so new employees can get the info and/or the previous employee is responsible for wiping the Mac before leaving the company.

You should be able to.
As long as you use Internet Recovery - hold Command + Option + R keys while booting up and until you see a progress bar. It'll take a while to be connected to Apple's servers. Once you see the Utilities window, use Disk utility to wipe your drive and then choose to reinstall the OS. This method will wipe off the previous Apple ID and you can set it up with your/a different ID.

i try to use "comman + r" keys while booting didn't install my mac, it always shows not available this time error.
when i using internet recovery, voila it succeded instal the mac
