Email notifications not showing up

I am not sure when and how did this happen. But i don't receive email notifications anymore. I see badge on my email app icon. But even though i have set banner as my mail notifications, i don't receive any banners. I even tried Alerts instead of banner but still no luck. Has anyone else experienced this ? How did you resolve it ?
