itunes automatically starts and restarts even after I force quit the application

I'm on a 2009 iMac running OS X Yosemite, 10.10.3. I haven't used the machine in over a week but when I started it today, iTunes fired up without my launching it. I didn't want any distractions from what I was doing so I quit the application. But, it just relaunched within 10 seconds. This happened 2 or 3 times so I tried to force quit it, but the same thing happened. I'm running iTunes 12.2.0.145
