Hardware compatibility for OS upgrade higher than 10.5.8

Hi Guys,

Its hard to find info about hardware compatibility for an OS upgrade. Need help with this config (below) and to see if I can upgrade to OS 10.6

This way alot of driver issues with printers and scanning can be resolved.

OS 10.5.8

2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo

1GB 667 - DDR2 SD RAM

Much appreciated if someone could tell me if its possible to upgrade and if not why I can't. Maybe there is a solution to that problem as well.

Thanks in advance...

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
