Q: Flashing light - no light on charger/ Mac won't turn on. Help!

I closed the lid of my mac last night, and a few minutest later tried to open it, and it wouldn't turn on. I noticed a flashing orange light instead of just a solid orange or green light, and I just decided to leave it. now it won't even turn on, and my power cable won't do anything. There's only a couple of times the orange flashes have come back, and they are random. Im hoping that its just the power cable, but I don't think it was low on battery when I shut the lid. Please help?
