Startup Disk (Macintosh HD) not showing (MBP 15' Late 2013)

Hi,

I have a MBP 15' Late 2013, and its hard disk (ssd) has some persistent issues of not mounting. I back up mac regularly when I startup in recovery mode (while attaching backup external drive) only external drive shows otherwise, a folder containing a question mark appears after startup.

Please guide, what to do. I have previously used disk utility options like verify disk, repair, and erase.

Try that in recovery mode.

Thanks. I have tried SMC and NVRAM but in vain.

Can't go to Apple store. Isn't there any other solution which can be tried at home and what could be the possible causes of such error.

Reinstall the OSX.

There could be a faulty (intermittent) connection to the SSD.

That is the problem, there is no drive to Reinstall the OSX.

If you cannot get a connection to the drive, then a trip to an Apple store is your best option. You are dealing with a hardware problem.
