I have spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to delete something from my reading list on my Mac and this reply was the one that helped me. I still don't know why I don't see an X and the swipe-to-remove/delete option doesn't work, but this strange three-pronged tap did it for me. Thank you.
I still need help deleting items in my reading list. There is no x in the box to click. Too often, I accidentally bump the little box that adds items to the reading list, and I want none of them saved. Can someone please give me direction?
I finally called them. To delete from Reading List:
Highlight the item to delete.
Right Click, (which is Control Click), and a list will come up.
While holding down Control Click, scroll down to delete. Voila!
I cannot guess what you mean exactly - my crystal ball is broken...

Open your reading list, go to the one you want to delete, click on the small gray x in the top right corner.
Sorry I was not sufficiently detailed, deggie also responded and appears had not problem answering my inquiry, and it was right and and simple answer. Thank you for your criticism, it was helpful for future inquiries.
Your response was very helpful and straight forward. Thank you very much.
You are welcome, and thank you, reminded me to clean up my reading list.
Not a problem. He is familiar with Safari and I prefer and solely use Firefox.
I likely would have guessed better if this thread had been in the Safari forum instead of "Using ASC" - whose topic is 'How to use this forum software's interface, features and/or how to find what you wish' - and - a catchall for stuff like Apple ID, Phishing and things that just can't be classified. It is a relatively low traffic and I often need to get more information so a question can be moved to a forum where it may get a more rapid and relevant response. It is sometimes hard to pick a forum that one thinks appropriate when stressed by the issue plaguing one, and the UX design is not all that friendly. (not that your issue seemed stressful 😉 )
As you may have been able to tell, my post, in majority, was a cookie cutter one, pasted from a text file 😎 even quite a bit of the above ¶ is from another cookie cutter I use for questions that have languished overnight or several hours. (anyone Level 2 or above can ask for questions to be moved, etc.)
see you around - and buenos noches

There is no small gray x. What do I do? When I click on the summary it takes me to the page.
I downloaded Safari 10.0 and no longer see the gray x to delete items on the Reading List. Any help?
