icalendar and email address

I have 3 email addresses on my iphone. One is my apple ID email and the two others are not. If someone sends me an icalendar invite to one of the non apple ID email addresses, will it be added to my icalendar even though it is not the apple ID email associated with my icloud calendar? I guess my bigger question is, is the apple ID email not really relevant as long as I have the email active on the iphone it will automatically be added to the icloud calendar regardless of the email address it was sent to, provided I have the email active on the phone?
