Photos not synching through itunes to ipad mini

Hi Everyone,

Recently, 2 to 3 months or so, the synch from my itunes (12.2.1.16) to my ipad mini does not transfer all new photos from Photos app.

I take pictures on my iphone, then they upload to Photos, and my ipad mini is set to synch across all photos.

Now when synching the mini, the most recent photos, typically the last import does not synch across.

Plenty of space on the mini, 14G used and 12G available. And perhaps here lies a related problem.

Those are the figures from the mini itself. If I look from itunes, it tells me the following:

Photos - 11.47GB

Apps - 2.43GB

Docs & Data - 370MB

Other - 8.95GB

3.58GB Free

Seems clearly wrong, and what is this Other - and how to get rid of it, if in fact its correct, given the mini readings.

Any help on either or both would be appreciated.
