Can I replace 128GB SSD (inside my Macbook Pro Retina 2014-mid) to a 256GB SSD getting from other 2014-mid or even 2013-late MacBook Pro Retina?

My Macbook Pro Retina(2014-mid) is the entry level notebook with only 128GB SSD. Now the 128GB storage is inadequate for me. I need extra spaces to install several huge-size softwares. So can I replace my 128GB SSD to a 256GB SSD getting from other 2014-mid or even 2013-late MacBook Pro Retina?

If this cannot be doable. I wonder can I install softwares on external SSD?

Thanks!

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4), I use Win7 as well

I have been mulling over this, as an alternative to opening up the case, as it were.... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=1141672&gclid=Cj0KEQjwyK- vBRCp4cymxermx-EBEiQATOQghzrF_12PDcRXwKt… ... 256 ssd memory in the sd slot - seems a much more economic way of doubling up the memory on my late 2103 macbook pro. Question.. would it be possible to dual boot through this rather than on the memory present on the machine? Anybody else done this?
