Q: Old Ipod how do you download apps because the IOS is 6.1.1 and most apps need 7.0.1  is there anyway to get by this

Basically i had a really old ipod abut 3 years old and i decided to give it to my younger brother so i decided to reset it and give it to him and when i reset it now i cant Download any apps because it says the operating system is not high enough .

iPod touch, iOS 6.1.1

    Use the device's Software Update function to check for updates. If it's up to date, download the current versions of those applications to a computer or compatible iOS device, click here, and try following the instructions.
