Using Hotspot for iPad GPS accuracy? How much data used?

I just bought iPad Air 2 WIFI only. No GPS chip. If I use my iPhone as a Hotspot, how much data might be used to simply run an only GPS iPad app using cellular connection? The app is a golf GPS named Golfshot. I've been using iPad 1 for app. I would like to use new iPad.
