Thoughts on disabling a mouse thingy?

I have a gadget that causes my MBP to think it’s a mouse, but it’s not, but in the wash up the MBP Trackpad doesn’t function whilst the gadget is plugged in. i.e. Cursor locks up, & sys prefs say a mouse is connected.

If I plug a mouse in as well I can access the cursor, but to put it bluntly...

I hate them meeces to pieces.

Can’t stand using the Flea ridden things anymore.

Anyway, anyone got a way of telling Mac to use Trackpad always?

Does it require a command in Terminal?

Notes;

Tried two gadgets cables, tried two Macs, both think gadget is a mouse.

Thanks kindly in advance.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, however solution found via http://www.imug.com.au/

"Mouse thingy" & "Gadget" equal a device that is not a mouse, but is causing a reaction like one.

So the real question is: How to enable the trackpad when a mouse is connected, regardless if it something else?

It appears a certain option was enabled, but now it's off, and now I have some chance of making the "Gadget" work.

System Preferences:Accessibility:Mouse & Trackpad.
