jumping iTunes icon
I keep getting a jumping iTunes icon saying my download has timed out when I haven't done anything with iTunes for several weeks. I don't have any software updates in the queue
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)
Make sure your Mac's (OS X) system software is up to date not just for iTunes.
Open the App Store then select Updates from the menu top of the App Store window.
