When I type in a sort field that matches the corresponding field (for example, "Abbey Road" in the Sort Album field matching "Abbey Road" in the Album field), the sort field disappears. I am using the latest version of iTunes. The problem is on both OS X Yosemite and Windows 7 Ultimate. Thanks.

It strikes me that is how it should be, then if you're looking in the songs view the sort fields are only shown when they make a difference, and if they are greyed out then you know it is an auto sort like "The Beatles" > "Beatles".

I'm not sure whether this is the same issue, but I've noted that any edits to the Album, Artist or Album Artist fields in 12.2 will clear any user defined values in the corresponding Sort fields - and very annoying it is too!
In some cases it might make sense, particularly if previously both values were the same, but otherwise yes, I'd find that annoying too. 😮
