Aug 3, 2015 10:29 PM in response to nanvan108by Carolyn Samit,Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Repair Disk Permissions
This process can take a few minutes depending on the size of the hard drive.
When it's done restart your Mac, launch iTunes then try to authorize again.

Aug 3, 2015 10:31 PM in response to Carolyn Samitby nanvan108,Thanks, Carolyn. I actually repair disc permissions regularly with disc utility, but it hasn't helped this situation at all.

Aug 3, 2015 10:33 PM in response to nanvan108by Kappy,If this is a permissions problem in your Home folder, then Caroline's advice will not work. Disk Utility does not repair permissions in the Home folder. You will need to see OSX Tips Resetting Password and-or Home Folder Permissions and follow the part for resetting permissions in a Home folder.
