Why does the Apple logo come up during the Visualizer?

You know how trippy the Visualizer can be? Well, it's bloody annoying to have the Apple logo reappear every few minutes. This didn't happen with older versions of iTunes. Can the logo be prevented from appearing? What's the point when I know I'm using a Mac and I know Apple made the Visualizer? Do we need what is really an ad during the Visualizer? C'mon Apple, let us just enjoy the Visualizer without the logo, please.

Do you have any 3rd party add-ons affecting the Visulaizer?

For me, the Apple logo only appears at the outset when the visualizer is activated. Baring any 3rd party affects, you may have corruption in one or more of iTunes preferences files. Have you tried iTunes from another User Account to see if the problem shows up there too? If it doesn't, then I'd move the 3 iTunes preferences to the desktop from your User Account/Library/Preferences folder (look for com.apple.itunes.xxxx.plist where xxxx= a specific iTunes name). Then, restart iTunes. If the problem goes away, you'll need to reestablish your custom preferences.

At least you can get your visualizer to work! All I get is a black screen. Expanding a video window to full screen also just gets me a black monitor, and the audio stutters on. I downloaded several tv episodes but I can't watch them. Frustrating!

Since obtaining the current version of iTunes, visualizer (selected from the appropriate menu, since no button) results in a black screen. Nothing more. I am running 10.4.8 on a titanium PowerBook G4.

I notice that several others are having problems getting visualizer to work. I have not yet seen an acknowledgement from a Discussion host nor a solution. Any help would be appreciated since Visualizer helps alleviate boredom on my treadmill!

Aha! Minutes after posting my problem, I discovered the answer. There are visualizer options under the View menu. I went there and turned off "Use Open GL". I don't know what that means, but after that visualizer works fine.

While at it, I experimented with the option "faster but rougher". With this box checked, my TiBook achieved a maximum frame rate of 14. With it unchecked, the max frame rate was 11 but the display was so much smoother that I prefer it. No need to worry about capping the frame rate at 30 on my machine, apparently.

SO, back to the treadmill!
