Question

is the ipad air charger compatible with iphone 6

Though I've charged my iPhone 6 with the iPad Air charger I found that the charger & the phone was heating up. Any solutions? Or is the charger incompatible?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.0.2

Good rule of thumb.

Only use the charger that came with the device.

The iPad charge adaptor in compatible with any iPhone. The actual charging circuit (controlling the charge rate) is in the phone, not the charge adaptor.
