Ichat audio not working with hotspot
Any suggestion on how I cant get the audio working via a personal hotspot on my iPhone?
The only feature that is working is texting.
Do I have to change the port #?

Hi,
The iChat or Messages apps need to have at least 50kbps (dial-up speeds) to get the Audio to work.
DO you know if the phone is either getting that from the carrier or is able to pass that much bandwidth to the computer ?
I am understanding you to mean you have set up a Hotspot on your iPhone to another device (I have then presumed a Computer).
If this is not the Hotspot you mean could you explain again please.

Ralph, you've assumed correctly.
Can you tell me how I can check what dial-up speed I'm getting with my iPhone?
To add to this mystery, I was able to set-up a hot spot on my husband's iphone 5c and "audio via iChat" worked.
This was all an iphone 6.
Any additional thoughts?
Hi,
This speed test Web page will work without Java or Flash (neither of which are on an iPhone) so it should tell you the speed via web browser.
If the iPhone is getting more than 50kbps it is then a question of what speed is then getting to the other device.
You should check from there as well.
The carrier might offer 4G but that does not mean you can get it all the time.
The bars indicating "Signal Strength" mean little as you could have 4 or even 5 bars but only have an GPRS or lower service from the carrier.
