iMovie keeps crashing every time I open it! Any clues on how to resolve it?

I tried to import an .aac audio file and iMovie crashed. I tried different options such as moving out the theatre and library files and the app.imovie.plist files.. but nothing works!

Any clues on how to resolve this?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)
