Hello, i have this 2008 macbook Air running OS X 10.5.8, with 1.6GHz, intel core 2 duo, 2GB of ram, with HDD. my question is if I'm going to replaced my HDD to SSD is there any possibility that i can update it to the latest OS X?? thanks

If you have a model identifier 1.1 MBA, then Lion is the latest OSX that can be installed. If it is a model identifier 2.1 or newer, the Yosemite can be installed.
Note that all MBAs have SSDs already installed.

Oh.. that sad. I have the 2008 macbook air 1.1
it's useless now because i can't even use youtube anymore and the safari is not safe to use anymore because it's out to date. so what should i do with it? and mine is HDD not SSD.. that's why it took so long to boot up. thank you anyway.
It doesn't have to be sad. Upgrade your OS first to Snow Leopard http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard Then use Softawre update to get to 10.6.8 and gain access to the Mac App Store. Then upgrade to Lion http://www.apple.com/shop/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion and update it to 10.7.5. Be aware that with only 2GB of ram, which is not upgradable, Lion may not perform up to your expectations and stopping the upgrades at Snow Leopard 10.6.8 might be a better choice for your old MBA.

You can install it on any Mac that YOU own. You cannot share. Remember that Lion may not run very well in only 2GB of ram.
Oh okay.. So my 2008 macbook air if i'll install os x lion kinda like sluggish? cuz i'm gonna give it to my mom she only do email and web browsing i think that's faster enough for her right? thank you again
Yes it will be sluggish and the spinning beachball will appear often.
