My iMac 5K has a slight ticking noise when running at low speed. I only noticed it when i woke up to check a download in the early hours of the morning. Am I just being paranoid? or should I worry. Has anyone else had this?
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)
You can reset the SMC (unplug the computer from the back of the computer (not the wall) and let it sit for about 1-2 minutes and see if that helps. The machine has a 1 year warranty and is also eligible for AppleCare still which I STRONGLY recommend! If you have AppleCare already or the machine is less than 90 days old, give AppleCare a call immediately.

Ive spoken to Apple and I thinkI might take it to an Apple Store to get it checked. Its only a slight noise but Ive never heard it from other iMacs that I have used.

Taking it in to looked at would be wise, again if you don't have AppleCare its a smart investment.
I'm experiencing something similar with my new 2015 iMac. What was the result from taking it to the apple store? Did they fix it?
