Q: why doesn't mac book pro work with air drop

I have a mid 2009 mac book pro and using 10.10.4 operating system. I use to be able to air drop to it but no longer. What has changed?

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Hello carolsh,

I understand AirDrop was working and is no longer working but I'm not sure of the details.

This article states your MacBook Pro supports computer to computer Airdrop but not computer to iOS device.
Use AirDrop to send files from your Mac to another nearby Mac or iOS device - Apple Support

It also has sections for help with things like not seeing who you're looking for and tips for sending files.
