Using Lightning Digital AV Adapter.

For mirroring the Ipad to my Win PC should the devices be in the same nework? With airplay server app they need to be in he same network. At my workplace (where we want to use this feature) this is not possible. Is it the same with the cable? Or can it be used even if the PC and the Ipad are using different networks? thanks

iPad, iOS 8.4

Have you tried it. It is most likely you would end up on the same wifi router in the same room. You could have to have your network administrators allow Bonjour traffic if it is somehow locked out. You could get another wifi router and tape to the top of the projector.

Apple use bonjour to establish the network. This is a non-route-able protocol.

There are network apps you can install to make Bonjour routeable.

What type of cable are we talking about? I'm not sure if apple officially supports this, but multiple sources have reported this works apple camera connection kit > powered usb hub > usb to ethernet cable adapter ( not sure what brand was used try apple. ) see youtube vid.
