I live in 2 countries and have a different sim card for each place which are both 4g enabled but my phone has never once shown that I have 4g signal. I'm guessing that means something isn't quite working right. Anyone else had this problem?
Do you see "LTE"?
Also depends on whether the sims are from Apple Approved Carriers in the two Countries and the iPhone 6 is the correct model for use in those Countries
I only ever see 3G.
Wegras - They are approved apple networks and the iPhone is the right model for these countries.
Then you are either out of 4G range or the iPhone is possibly faulty
I can't have always been out of range, I've had the phone since january. I was thinking the sam, either it is faulty or just not showing when i do have 4G signal.
So take it to an Apple Store genius bar for evaluation

Yeah it will have to be the apple store, was hoping there was something else that could fix it.
You could try a restore,as new .Check if you then have 4G if not it is a hardware issue ( after loading the settings for carrier etc )
if you do get 4G then restore again with backup.and if OK good
if not then something in your backup is the problem and you will need to set up again from scratch
