Terminal force USB 2.0 for a boot

Hey Everyone.

I know this is possible, and I have done it before. I am doing some imaging testing for my company, and as part of the testing need to force a newer iMac to boot with the USB 2.0 standard instead of USB 3.0. I have done this before and can't for the life of me remember the command or where I found the walk through. Any suggestions?
