iMac 24 Display. The black color does not show as black.

iMac24 and recently I discovered that the black colors on my screen/display shows up like more brown/red color. Look at the picture http://img517.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0001xk5.jpg I took at the screen when visited the site www.apple.com/macbookpro. I have tried almost everything - colorsync - repair disk right and so on. I have installed ONYX lately and run some cleening av maintenance jobs here, but should this be the reason for this problem? Universial access is also "correct". I have tried to log out and in with a different and a new user, but still the same. Is there anyway to reset the colorsync in anyway? Please any help or tips, thanks!

Hello reder

Yes there may be try this: "System Preferences / Display / Select Color" from here you can select a new "Display Profile" (iMac or other) to see if that fixes it. If the color is still off you can, "Select Calibrate" follow insturctions and make a new "Display Set" (profile) then select that set.

OK

Think I would do a hardware test, here are the instructions (Perform Extened Testing) This might tell you if the problem is hardware related.

You may have to take it back to Apple and let them look at it.

Now I have tested the hardware, and reset the PRAm AND finally reinstalled the hole iMac (format and reinstall). The problem is still here. What next? Apple support? any other tips?, thanks

Try setting the Display to "Adobe RGB 1998" in the display prefs

Hello jules771, sorry, but that still is not fixing the problem. Noticed also if I bring Frontrow up, the half upper screen is like red/brown. :-/

It would seem that there is something wrong with the "Display" and it needs to go back to Apple to be looked at. Take it or send it in, click on http:

Update on this. It went back to Apple service and their replaced the Logic Board and other.
