My iPad Air, iOS 8.4, doesn't pair with my Bose Soundlink speaker even though both are on and the speaker is discoverable, but the iPad will pair with my iMac.

Delete the pairing with your Mac and see if it will work.
I have done that. In fact I've had the iPad, the iMac and the speaker next to each other on my desk and have tried every combination of iPad, iMac and speaker on and off and the speaker and the iMac pair esily with speaker, but the iPad just will not do it.

The iPad has paired with the Bose speaker in the past. iPad's software was recently upgraded to iOS 8.4. Could that cause the iPad to not pair with the speaker and yet pair with iMac
