"Hey Siri" does NOT work. Am I alone?

I love my Apple Watch but the "Hey Siri" feature is a joke. It is embarrassing to be out and about and saying "Hey Siri" over and over, in different inflections and volumes and tones, and it only works 1 in 200 times... so bad, they ought to just drop the "feature." And yes, it is turned on in Settings.

Am I alone in this not working? I ALWAYS have to push the Crown in to get Siri's attention.

I think that I've found the answer to your problem being 'Hey Siri' works fine on your iPhone but won't work on a wrist raise on the Watch. You have to trigger Siri with a crown press. My Watch is set up as English and Region United Kingdom. Under Siri settings on my iPhone my Language is English (United Kingdom). When to set my language on my iPhone to English (South Africa) or any other English variant then 'Hey Siri' on the Watch stops working and only works on a crown press. If I match the iPhone to English (United Kimgdom) then 'Hey Siri' works on the Watch again on wrist raise. This suggests that language and region have to be matched on both phone and watch.

Try restarting (or, if that doesn't work, force restarting) your Apple Watch:

Restart: Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; Drag the slider to turn off completely; Afterwards, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

Force restart: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Remember also to pause after saying "Hey Siri" until you see Siri appear on your Apple Watch display.

FYI that is not necessary, and may actually prevent your spoken commands from being recognized. The reason is that Siri will start listening, then whatever ambient noise during that pause may take precedence over what you say next.

Try saying whatever it is you want to say all at once, without a pause. You may find that works better for you. Or not, but try it, it works for me. Siri works reliably.

TToo many assumptions, I assume? Was just trying to be supportive to the original post. Clearly that's not valued so much.

If by being "supportive" means you agree the "Hey Siri" feature is a joke and that Apple ought to just drop the "feature" you assume correctly. This resource is designed to unite those seeking problems with those who can help solve them. It is an inappropriate forum to vent complaints, especially if you do not even own the product being discussed. That is precisely the sort of contribution that's not valued so much.

If you are sincerely interested in addressing your particular concern, and you are unable to find a solution by searching for it, the most effective way to do that is to post a new question in an appropriate forum – either of the ones linked above.
