I'm an old guy, and need help moving my pictures . .

When I open my Photos on my iPhone 5, under the album All Photos it shows 5, 644 pictures. I have 50 other Albums on my iPhone. But when I plug it in to my pc and look in the DCIM folder, I only have 9 folders in the DCIM, and about 300 pictures total. There are lots of icons that say Local Disk in those sub-folders. Does the DCIM contain all 5,644 pictures? I want to copy them to my pc and delete them from my iPhone.
