Numbers (iWork '09 V. 2.3(554)) opening multiple files-Yosemite (10.10.1)

I have a Mac Mini (early 2009) running OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), with iWork '09 version 2.3(554) installed. The issues that I'm currently having, is that when I open a single numbers file, multiple numbers files open in preview on the task bar. I try to close the windows but this usually causes numbers to crash. The only solution that I have tired is turning on, 'Close windows when quitting an app' and restarting the machine.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Afforsol,

As a temporary solution, hold down the shift key when you launch Numbers (or any app). That will stop previous documents opening.

In addition to your solution:

Close windows when quitting an app

apply this setting:

System Preferences > General > Ask to keep changes when closing documents.

User uploaded file

The next time you Shut Down, untick Reopen windows when logging back in.

User uploaded file

Those are my settings, and they work for me.

Regards,

Ian.
