How to make long footnotes continue in different pages

Hi! I'm new using Mac so I'm a bit lost with how this works. I have a MacBook Air with OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and I'm working on Pages 5.5.3. I'm trying to insert a very long footnote (it would take at least 2 pages on the footnote alone) but when the text doesn't fit anymore on the current page, it simply doesn't show anywhere, instead of continuing onto the next page as part of the same-numbered footnote.Thanks in advance!
