iTunes 12.1 does not recognize iPhone 6 in Windows 10

After installing Windows 10, my iPhone 6 will not show up in the latest version of iTunes (12.1 I believe).

When I plug my iPhone into my desktop, it charges but does not show up in Device Manager or even ask me to Trust this Computer.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Thank you in advance!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

If the issue persists and you have a 64-bit system try the for older video cards version which is a 64-bit installer for mostly 32-bit code, similar to all 64-bit versions of iTunes up to 12.1.

I had the same problem, and the following steps fixed it for me:

1) Open device manager (right-click on 'This PC' form File Explorer, select Properties, and then Device Manager)

2) Find the USB Mass Storage device with the yellow warning icon next to it. Device manager would have already opened this section for you, and it will be glaringly visible.

3) Disable this device.

4) Remove the iOS device.

5) Re-connect it.

I had to come off windows 10 yesterday because I was having too many problems with it and that is with a clean install. 10 would see iTunes just fine and my touch but what it would also do is keep dropping my Logitech g910 keyboard while I was using it so there are usb issues with it. I'm on the fence about rolling back my laptop to 8.1 pro because the graphics driver is crashing on it. The only pc I have that isn't having issues with 10 is my asus t00tam tablet but I had issues getting it to take 10 so I'd have to say that 10 isn't quite ready for release and everyone who is running is a beta test for Microsoft. You might check the power settings on your usb ports and make sure that power management is turned off so windows will not shut them off.
